Steve Smith has 25 years of commercial banking experience in both sales and credit and as an individual contributor and a sales leader. He has at separate times in his career been put on a performance plan for not meeting goal and has been one of the highest producing bankers bank-wide. The latter was a result of keen alignment between his activities, management support, and playing to the strengths of that bank’s unique value proposition.
Steve understands the challenges that banks and bankers face today and sees abundant opportunities for increased collaboration within banks to further their success. It takes a team for a banker to succeed, and Steve enjoys bringing a team together for that purpose.
Professional interests include sales, credit risk management, strategic planning, cross-division collaboration, enterprise management, and winning cultures. In his spare time, Steve enjoys participating on the board of his local Risk Management Association Chapter, playing tennis, hiking, and spending time with his partner, Evangelynn, and his young son.
